Keeping your system up to date is critical to ensure that your system is protected from the latest security vulnerabilities discovered in Windows. You can manually keep your system up to date by visiting Windows Update weekly, or you can configure your system to keep itself updated automatically:
From Control Panel, double click on the System icon.
Select the "Automatic Updates" tab.
Check the "Keep my computer up to date" checkbox
