Aimetis Symphony has the ability to create video walls by using numerous PCs and controlling them remotely through the network, giving the appearance as if all monitors were connected directly to the client PC. The video wall is a software representation of a collection of physical monitors displaying video from Symphony. Typically this collection would be a single wall of monitors in a room but it can be an arbitrary set of monitors that are in different physical locations. There can be multiple video walls associated with a farm, each with different sets and layouts of monitors.
Every instance of Symphony Client has the ability to become a controller. When an instance of Symphony Client is registered with a farm as a controller, all monitors associated with that client are now available for inclusion to a Symphony video wall, as well as being remote controlled by any Client on the network.
To configure and manage Video Walls, from Symphony Client, perform the following:
Define the Video Wall Controller(s)
Login to the PC(s) that are physically connected to the displays that will be used in the Video Wall
From Symphony Client, navigate to Server > Video Walls to open the Video Walls interface
Click on the Controller Configuration tab. Click Register current Symphony Client as controller
Perform the above steps for each PC that is connected to a display that makes part of the video wall
Design the Video Wall
From any Symphony Client PC, navigate to Server > Video Walls to open the Video Wall interface
Click File and Design Video Wall to open the Video Wall Designer
Click New to create a new layout
Select the Video Wall Monitor link and drag it to the grid. If more than one monitor is connected to the controller, drag them to the grid as well.
Under Monitor Properties define which physical monitor this should represent which monitors in the grid.
Click Save when finished.
Using the Video Walls
From any Client PC, load the Video Walls interface by clicking Server > Video Wall
On the Video Wall tab, click a layout and click Display
To change cameras, drag a camera from the camera tree into the layout.
To change the camera moves, select the monitor and click the Add Multi View button or change the Number of Camera Views.
