Authority Levels

Authority Levels define what an individual user can do with the attached Bosch alarm panels, from just being to enter through a certain door to the ability to add/delete other users and change the system. All authority levels have the same events but can be turned on (activated) or turned off (deactivated). Each user can have a different authority level in the eight different areas of a panel. The Bosch G Series Control Panels (D7212, D7412, D9112 and D9412) can monitor up to eight areas simultaneously. Examples of areas are hallways, cafeterias, lobbies, office areas and manufacturing floors. Each authority level can have multiple events. For example, if a user should only be able to disarm an area, the Disarm event could be programmed as the only event in Authority Level 1 and that assigned to Area 1 for the user. A user can have an authority level of 0 to 15 in areas 1 to 8. The authority levels dialog box will be a view only window. You will not be able to change what a particular authority level does in this software. If you desire a change in authority levels, contact your installer and they will be able to change them using the RAM IV software package or a D5200 Programmer. An Area is one or more points. Points are inputs used by the panel to automatically detect intrusion or other events. Individual detection devices and relays such as door contacts, motion sensors, smoke detectors, surveillance cameras, and glass break sensors are connected to points. Depending on the G Series model that is used, the number of possible points varies. For example, the D9412 Control Panel can have 246 total points.

Following is a list of authority level events and event descriptions that apply to the Bosch controllers.

Disarm?: Allows the user to disarm an area using the disarm menu.
Master Arm Delay?: Allows the user to Master arm (with exit and entry delays) areas that are disarmed.
Master Arm Instant?: Allows the user to instant Master arm (no delays) areas that are disarmed.
Perimeter Instant?: Instantly arms all perimeter points (no delays) in the area where a command center is assigned.
Perimeter Delay Arm?: Delay arms all perimeter points in the area where the command center is assigned.
Watch Mode?: Informs the user when a perimeter and interior point has faulted while the point is disarmed.
Perimeter Part?: Arms only normal perimeter points while other faulted perimeter points that are bypassable are ignored.
View Area Status?: Shows the armed status of all areas within the scope of the command center.
View Memory?: Shows prior alarm, trouble, and supervisory activity that occurred since the last time the system was armed.
View Pt Status?: Shows the status of points assigned to the area where the command center is assigned. This function shows point text and the electrical condition (normal, open, short and missing) of each point in the area.
Walk Test?: Allows the user to test controlled points in areas within the Scope of the command center without sending reports to the central station.
Fire Test?: Allows the user to test 24-hour points in areas within the Scope of the command center where the function is entered.
Send Report?: Allows the user to test the communication link between the panel and the central station receiver(s) and send a test report or a status report.
Door Control?: A top level display that must be enabled for the user to access the doors.
Cycle Door?: A top level display that must be enabled for the user to access the cycle door.
Unlock Door?: A top level display that must be enabled for the user to access the unlock door.
View Log?: Allows the user to view all of the main events (door access) and main event modifiers (by user) in the event log memory,
Print Log?: Allows the user to print all of the events stored in the panel starting with a start date and ending with the last event in the log.
Bypass a Point?: Allows the user to bypass individual points. When a point is bypassed, the panel will ignore any alarms/troubles and not display faults from that point.
Unbypass a Point?: Reverses the action taken in Bypass a point.
Reset Sensor(s)?: Allows the user to reset fire and/or intrusion sensors when power interruption has to be applied to reset the sensor.
Change Relays?: Allows the user to manually set and reset relays 1 through 128.
Remote Program?: Allows the user to initiate Remote Account Manager sessions to enable panel programming.
Move to Area?: Allows the user to view and control another area within the “scope” of the command center. This is used to allow one command center to control more than one area.
Display Rev?: Allows the user to see the control panel’s software revision number in the command center display.
Service Walk?: Allows the user to perform a walk test of all 246 points controlled by the panel.
Change Skeds?: Allows the user to make changes to any Sked from any command center and that will affect the whole system.
Custom Function 128 to Custom Function 143: Enables certain users access to 25 specially programmed Custom Functions.
Force Arm?: Allows the user to arm an area whether the points in the area are clear or not.
Area O/C?: Allows the user to generate an opening and closing report for that area.
Restricted O/C?: Allows the user to initiate an opening report if a bell is ringing or a closing report when force/bypass arming.
Perimeter O/C?: Allows the user to report perimeter opening and closing reports if the area where they have authority sends perimeter opening and closing reports.
Secure Door?: A top level display that must be enabled for the user to access the secure door function.
Access Control Level?: Shows the current on/off state of control levels 1 to 14.
Change Display?: Allows the user to select either a bright or dim display with loud or soft command center warning tones.
Change Time/Date?: Allow the user to set the time and date in the panel.
Change Passcode?: Allows the user to change their five-digit passcode from any command center in the area where the user has the appropriate authority.
Add User?: Allows the user to add/change passcodes, add/change tokens/cards and sub-users, and add/change panel authority levels by area.
Del User?: Allows the user to delete a user’s passcode and tokens/cards from the system, it will also delete the passcode, Master User, and all sub-users associate with the user number.
Extend Close?: Allows the user to change the expected closing time for the area.
Send Duress?: Allows the user to send a duress report to the central station if the area where they have authority sends a duress signal.
Passcode Arm?: Allows the user to arm an area by entering their passcode and then pressing [ENTER] on the command center.
Passcode Disarm?: Allows the user to disarm an area by entering their passcode and then pressing [ENTER] on the command center.
Grant Access while Mstr Arm?: Grants access to the user while keeping the area’s interior and perimeter armed.
Grant Access while Per Arm?: Grants access to the user while keeping the area’s perimeter armed.
Grant Access while Disarmed?: Grants access to the user while the area disarmed.
Disarm Area with Token?: Disarms the area but keeps the perimeter armed.
Disarm only the Interior?: Allows the user to disarm only the interior of an area.
