The VertX hardware platform including the Edge plus hardware devices are capable of the following PIN functions:

  • Card only- Using this function the card may be presented or using the keypad the card holder may enter the full card number for access.
  • Card and PIN- Requires the card holder to present the card and enter the four (4) digit user defined pin before access can be granted.

NOTE:

When using a combination reader that makes use of both card and pin in a single reader and the card and pin feature will be used, it is imperative that the reader's keypad be configured with an eight (8) bit burst in order for the keypad function to work properly.
