Overview
The VE161 45-Degree People Counting analytic is used for people counting and measuring dwell time. Even in busy environments, the VE161 can deliver accurate people counting results. Unlike the VE160, the VE161 does not require the camera to be directly over head for operation.
Working Scenarios
The VE16` is designed for up to moderately busy environments. To decide camera installation height for VE160, ensure that there are at least 6 frames when a person passes through the view at a normal speed and the people have a reasonable size of image. For this reason, camera height should be greater than 3 meters. Optimal camera angle is approximately 30-45 degrees facing down, but this is not constrained seriously. Typical camera views shown below:
VE161 Configuration Steps
By default, the VE250 algorithm is applied to a new camera added to AIRA. Configure the camera to use the VE161 analytic (see how to select algorithms for more help).
Click on the Analytics Config dialog and select the Camera and the VE161 analytic from the Algorithms combo box.
Set the Analysis FPS at 6, the Record FPS value can be set higher. The Record FPS is set in the camera wizard dialog.
Configure the Motion Mask by selecting the Include or Exclude radio, and mark the region where AIRA should analyze scene activity. The video engine will be actively tracking objects in the area marked in yellow. Objects outside the yellow area will not be tracked.
Click on the end of a red line and drag it larger or smaller as required. Click on the edge of the other red line and drag it larger or smaller to resize it appropriately.
Click OK to save changes.
VE161Alarming Configuration Steps
Configuring the analytic (see above) is required before Policies using
the VE161 can be created. The VE161 has the following options for alarm
triggering in a Policy:
Mark the alarm zone by marking the area in red. Clicking
Moving radio will alarm
as soon as the person entered the alarm zone.
Select Loitering in
non-busy environment to configure the alarm after X seconds.
Click OK and move to the Actions dialog of the Policy process.
